About Marian @ Simply Fancy Frocks
Marian has a wealth of experience in the sewing trade. Having learnt to sew as a youngster she did GCE dressmaking in school.
When bringing up a young family she made the majority of their clothes and took in sewing, making everything from dresses to curtains, trousers to bedspreads.
She did a City and Guilds course in college in machining and pattern cutting, from there a range of bespoke evening dresses were to be her stock in trade. Personal events overtook and sewing was put onto the back boiler for a while.
Recently she assisted Ruby Thorne, now working with a leading fashion house in London, to help her complete her final garments for her fashion degree, these garments were displayed at the 2008 London fashion week.
A request from her daughter in law to make a 'fancy frock', and the bug has struck once again.
